My name is Shannon McDermott, breeder/owner/handler here at Integrita Pharaoh Hounds. We are located on the beautiful west coast of Florida. We are dedicated to preserving the qualities of the breed and promoting health and education.
I grew up on an Arabian horse farm in central Illinois. My mother was the owner/trainer/breeder and I learned a love and great respect for the animals. I am fortunate that they have always been a part of my life, beginning with the horses and our German Shepherds. Over the years, I have had Golden Retrievers and Great Danes as pets, but it wasn't until my first Pharaoh Hound, Siris, that I became actively involved in conformation and performance events. I am absolutely in love with the Pharaoh Hound breed! I am very proud of their heritage and how versatile they are - and their personalities are just wonderful!
Currently, I am working toward getting my ASFA lure coursing judges license and eventually my AKC and UKC coursing judges license- along with showing and coursing my own dogs. I have done Meet the Breed events and given speeches about the breed to local kennel clubs.
Our kennel name: It was important to me to have my kennel name exemplify how I felt about the breed and my expectations for our future involvement. One word has always come to my mind. One word that I want to live by and promote as a kennel: INTEGRITY. For those who also participate in competitive (and subjective) dog events, you know that this can be hard to come by! But this is our goal: integrity- in all that we do. Translated to Maltese and it becomes: INTEGRITA
Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in the breed or you just have questions. I always take the time to help others who are interested in learning more about the breed and am more than happy to help. Current litters and/or future puppy plans (if any) are listed on our Puppy page.
